ALTA 2023 Conference Report
We were excited to welcome delegates from 20+ countries to Perth for our in-person 27th ALTA annual conference. The attendance, at close to 400, matched our previous highest in 2019, and we particularly appreciated the number of first-time presenters, delegates, exhibitors.
We were pleased to present another oustanding program of 80+ presentations from 17 countries, including many reflecting the ongoing upsurge in demand for critical metals for the battery and renewable energy industries such as Nickel, Cobalt, Copper, Lithium and REEs, with our trademark emphasis on innovation. We were pleased to have the continued strong support of the IAEA, Vienna, for our Uranium related conferences for the sixth year, and are also greatful to Curtin University and the CSIRO for partnering with us to present current technical developments in the Gold-PM and ISR events. We also hosted a highly topical FBICRC Lithium-Ion Battery Materials and Production Processes Masterclass, which had a waitlist for places.
A very special thanks to our invited world-class Opening and Keynote Speakers, and to our many presenters for their time and effort. Thanks also to our Conference Session, and Panel Chairs, and student volunteers, who played very important roles during the conference.
We greatly value our exhibitors and sponsors who made varied and valuable industry resources available to the delegates. Many of them are long-time ALTA regulars.
The Lunches, Session Breaks, Welcome Reception and Happy Hour, held as usual in the Exhibition, provided the opportunity to visit all the booths and have in-depth discussions with industry experts.
We returned to our traditional Conference Dinner format, which was a welcome opportunity to relax, enjoy good food and great compay in ALTA’s traditional informal family atmosphere. This year we had impromptu entertainment by delgates.
We hope the attendees enjoyed, as well as benefitted from the conference, and look forward to our 28th ALTA on 20-24 May 2024.
Thanks again for helping to make ALTA 2023 a great success.
